Tourists’ private social dining experiences

While private social dining has emerged as a new activity in the sharing economy, associated research is limited. This study aims to conceptualize tourists’ experiences by incorporating concept of experience economy with economy. Thematic analysis 29 interviews unveiled hierarchical framework, beginning personalized and leading sensory before ending emotional settings. Seven identified experiential domains were then situated within four-quadrant framework address how can enrich four original (i.e. entertainment, education, esthetic, escapism) trigger pleasure. These results lay theoretical foundation for future studies provide practical implications development food tourism.
